The hotel Carnival Palace is located close to the Ponte dei 3 Archi in Venice, one of the largest and most important bridges in the lagoon which is situated in the Cannaregio district.
Originally the bridge was known as the bridge of San Giobbe due to its proximity to the church of the same name.
It is without doubt one of the most evocative and spectacular bridges ever built. This is mainly thanks to its extraordinary construction which consists of 3 arches, two smaller arches on the sides and one larger arch in the centre.
Staying at the Carnival Palace means that you will be resident in the centre of this historic city and thus, very close to many of the main places of interest such as the Ponte dei 3 Archi (the bridge of three arches), which is one of the most beautiful sites in the city and the only remaining three arched bridge still standing in the Venetian territory.
In addition to this, the Hotel Carnival Palace is also very close to the Terminal 3 Archi of Venice which is just 20 metres from the hotel. This provides the added comfort of being able to reach the hotel easily from the Cruise Terminal. You simply have to take the People Mover to Piazzale Roma and then the vaporetto on line 5.2 which includes the stop of “Tre Archi” on its route.
But the Ponte dei 3 Archi is also famous for the "Svolo della Pantegana" that marks the start of the Venice Carnival celebrations; according to the Venetian tradition originated as a parody of the renowned Volo dell'Angelo, a papier-mâché pantegana is burst leaving confetti, balloons and streamers in the air.
